“So, if you don’t summon a book and a light before dawn, if you don’t set your mind on honest aims and pursuits, on waking, you’ll be tortured by envy or lust. Why so quick to remove a speck from your eye, when if in your mind, you put off the cure till next year?

I’m regularly reminded that modern revelations are re-birthed wisdom, sometimes running in the face of past lessons learned. We have to ask ourselves if our heartfelt ideas are more about EQ than IQ. The United States had a number of founders who expressed concerns about a human history wherein the majority ran roughshod over the minority. It understood that popular sentiment didn’t equate to truth or science or constructive engagement. I am forever grateful that my college education and personal reading included the ancient philosophers – while not omnipotent or enlightened by modern cultural evolution their was ample content in their thinking and conversations to cover the human condition.
Peace and Love friends!
